Inkarnate started life as a scrappy little game jam prototype about a rogue office printer. We didn’t even get the chance to submit it. But two years later, with more time on my hands and a stubborn desire to actually learn Godot, I decided to revive it - not by watching endless tutorials, but just by jumping in and building. The result? A chaotic, twin-stick roguelike inspired by the likes of Enter the Gungeon and Nuclear Throne.

Progress has been... messy. Procedural room generation melted my brain. Enemy AI fought me every step of the way. Animation? Still not my favourite thing. But bit by bit, it’s come together. There are now guns, UI, enemies, multiple rooms— and a surprising amount of juice. I’ve been posting daily progress, and the game’s really started to come alive.

Sure, there were bumps in the road — but I came out the other side knowing way more than I did going in. Mission accomplished.
